हाल ही में रजनीकांत वानखेड़े स्टेडियम में भारत बनाम न्यूजीलैंड विश्व कप सेमीफाइनल मैच देखने पहुंचे थे. रजनीकांत ने चेन्नई लौटने पर मीडिया से बातचीत की. उन्होंने भारत बनाम न्यूजीलैंड सेमीफाइनल मैच का अनुभव भी बताया. उन्होंने समाचार एजेंसी पीटीआई से कहा, ''पहले तो मुझे घबराहट महसूस हुई. बाद में जब विकेट गिरते रहे तो सब ठीक हो गया. उस डेढ़ घंटे के दौरान मैं काफी घबराया हुआ था. लेकिन मुझे 100% यकीन है कि (विश्व) कप हमारा है.'' पिछली बार रजनीकांत फिल्म जेलर में नजर आए थे. जेलर ने दुनिया भर में 650 करोड़ से अधिक की कमाई की थी. फिल्म की कहानी दर्शकों के दिलों को छू गई थी.
Recently Rajinikanth had come to Wankhede Stadium to watch the India vs New Zealand World Cup semi-final match. Rajinikanth spoke to the media upon returning to Chennai.
