मोदी सरनेम पर आपत्तिजनक टिप्पणी करने की वजह से कांग्रेस के पूर्व अध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी को गुजरात की एक अदालत ने दो साल की सजा सुनायी है. हालांकि, उन्हें जमानत भी मिल गयी है और उनके खिलाफ पीड़क कार्रवाई पर एक महीने की रोक लगायी गयी है, लेकिन राहुल गांधी को हुई सजा से कांग्रेस बेहद नाराज है. झारखंड समेत देश भर में केंद्र की नरेंद्र मोदी सरकार के खिलाफ प्रदर्शन हो रहे हैं. झारखंड प्रदेश कांग्रेस ने राजधानी रांची के अल्बर्ट एक्का चौक पर विरोध प्रदर्शन किया और एकजुट होकर कांग्रेस पार्टी के नेताओं और कार्यकर्ताओं ने जमकर नारेबाजी की. झारखंड प्रदेश कांग्रेस के अध्यक्ष राजेश ठाकुर की अगुवाई में हुए इस विरोध प्रदर्शन में पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री सुबोध कांत सहाय ने भी भाग लिया. झारखंड प्रदेश कांग्रेस के अध्यक्ष राजेश ठाकुर ने कहा कि देश की आजादी में अहम भूमिका निभाने वाले गांधी परिवार को डराने की कोशिश करने वाला औंधे मुंह गिरेगा. बता दें कि आज लोकसभा सचिवालय ने राहुल गांधी की लोकसभा की सदस्यता रद्द करने की अधिसूचना जारी कर दी. राहुल गांधी केरल के वायनाड से सांसद थे.
