Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh), May 26 (ANI): With all sources of potable drinking water drying up, residents of Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district have been forced to drink water from a river wherein they also bathe and wash their clothes. Lehdara village has been facing an acute water crisis, so much so that children skip school to fetch water from Dhasan River. The village lies in the drought-ravaged Bundelkhand region. Villagers claim that the village has been facing scarcity of potable drinking water for at least six years now. There have been incidents when children nearly drowned in the river but were rescued by the villagers. The river is also home to dangerous reptiles like crocodiles and snakes.
