New Delhi, Aug 13 (ANI): Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student activist Umar Khalid interacted with mediapersons he was shot at by an unidentified person on Monday afternoon. In his address, Umar said, “There was a programme of the ruling party happening in the nearby vicinity and still this attack took place. There has been no statement by the ruling party about it yet.” He further informed that, “We were four people at a tea stall, and then one guy came and attacked with a pistol. This was in the heart of Delhi. I don’t know who those people were, I appeal to Police to investigate the matter.” An unidentified man opened fire at Umar Khalid outside the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi, which he escaped unhurt. The shooter dropped his gun on the spot in an attempt to escape, leaving a critical clue for the police to investigate the case.
