बिनोद बिहारी महतो  झारखंड क्षेत्र में सबसे लोकप्रिय जननेता के रूप में याद किये जाते हैं. यह लोकप्रियता उन्हें यूं ही हासिल नहीं हो पायी. गांव-कस्बे में जाकर बेसहारों के सहारा के रूप में खड़े हुए. उन्हें संगठित किया. सरकार से लड़कर विस्थापितों को उनका हक दिलाने और अपने कुड़मी समाज के बीच व्याप्त कुरीतियों को दूर किया.

Binod Bihari Mahato is remembered as the most popular public leader in Jharkhand region. He did not achieve this popularity just like that. Went to villages and towns and stood as a support to the destitute. Organized them. By fighting the government, he helped the displaced people get their rights and removed the evils prevalent among his Kudmi community.
