Chitrakoot (U.P.), May 17 (ANI): At least six peacocks were killed by poachers using poisonous seeds in Uttar Pradesh’s Chitrakoot on Wednesday. According to Forest Ranger Narendra Singh, the villagers saw a group of people disguised as herb sellers in front of a forest in Chitrakoot district, who ran away after the villagers confronted them. The villagers went inside the forest only to find the carcass of six peacocks and one in an unconscious state. Eventually the unconscious peacock survived.
