Latehar (Jharkhand), July 7 (ANI): Tribal people of Jaram and other nearby villages in Naxal-infested Latehar district of Jharkhand are risking their lives to cross Sukri river on foot. They even cross the river by carrying bicycles and motorcycles on their shoulders to reach Latehar city. District administration started construction of the bridge a decade ago, but it remains incomplete due to threats by naxals. They threatened the contractor and burnt construction machines. The villagers face more problems during the monsoon season as the water level in the river rises. They call Naxals as anti-tribal and anti-development because the Naxals fear of losing ground with the progress in the region.
