Naxals targeting schools; want tribals to remain bereft of education

Latehar (Jharkhand), Jul 28 (ANI): As education can lead to empowerment of tribal people and prevent them from being misguided by the anti-social elements, Naxals can never be in favour of getting tribal children educated. It’s due to this reason that they even razed to ground a school building in the Sarendag village in Jharkhand’s Latehar district. The students studying in this school are now forced to adjust within three rooms that were somehow spared by the Naxals. This situation has created a lot of problems for the students besides affecting their studies. Naxals are fully aware of the fact that if tribals will get educated, then they won’t be able to misguide them, and slowly it will reduce their control over the region. Thus perturbed by their decreasing influence over the tribal people,Naxalites keep on committing such heinous acts like bombing the school building or creating hurdles in the development works, with an attempt to maintain their authority over these tribal people.
