Badaun (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 12 (ANI): A statue of Father of Indian Constitution BR Ambedkar was locked inside cage amid statue vandalisation spree in the nation. The Ambedkar statue in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun was locked with security guard outside for protection. The Uttar Pradesh Home Department on April 08 directed the state police to ensure security of statues of famous figures. The latest development comes after several incidents of vandalism of famous personalities, including Mahatma Gandhi, Syama Prasad Mukherjee, E.V. Ramasamy Periyar and Vladimir Lenin, came to light from across the country.
