Uttarkashi (Uttarakhand), May 24 (ANI): Bodies of at least 22 pilgrims were recovered after a bus carrying them drowned into a river near Dharasu in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi on Tuesday. The bus carrying 29 pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh, was on its way from Uttarkashi to Gangotri. The eight injured were admitted to a hospital for treatment while a hunt is underway to rescue other passengers. Uttarakhand Chief Minister TS Rawat announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 1 Lakh to the next of kin of those killed and Rs. 50,000 to those of injured. MP CM Shivraj Chouhan, however, announced compensation of Rs. 2 Lakhs each to the kin of the deceased.
