New Delhi, Dec 09 (ANI): On Sonia Gandhi’s 71st birthday on Saturday, people have thronged 10 Janpath Road to commemorate and cheer for her. In Bengaluru, celebrations were in full swing. Born on December 9, 1946, Gandhi has experienced her share of controversies after her move to India from Italy and particularly when she entered the landscape of Indian politics. Colliding with Gujarat’s first phase of assembly elections, the Indian National Congress (INC) president’s special day marks for her political career. The Congress party tweeted, on Saturday, “Compassionate, hardworking, selfless. Calm and composed, yet dignified and strong. A force for empowerment against all odds. A mother, a leader, a friend. Wishing Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, a very happy birthday.” The Prime Minister also took to Twitter and conveyed his wishes for her well being.
