Patna/Allahabad, Nov 05 (ANI): Festivities for the Chhat Parva began on Saturday and people were seen preparing for the festival. Chhath puja is celebrated by people across India, but predominantly in Northern Bihar and Nepal’s Maithili region. People worship the Sun god and his wife, lovingly called Chhathi Maiya. The festival is observed very rigorously and practices include abstinence from food and water, a dip in holy waters and meditating in waters for long hours etc.
