Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh), Nov 22 (ANI): Police on Tuesday seized an idol of Nathuram Godse from a proposed temple in his name in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior. The idol installed by the Hindu Mahasabha was removed on the order of the district administration. The district administration had served a show-cause notice to the Hindu Mahasabha and termed the act illegal under provisions which regulate religious places in the state. The Gwalior district police after receiving the collector’s order acted swiftly and seized Godse’s idol from the proposed temple. Godse was hanged to death on November 15, 1949 after his conviction in the murder of Mahatma Gandhi and his supporters observed the day as ‘sacrifice day’.
