A wild elephant in Assam’s Golaghat district was found with a heavy tractor tyre trapped around its neck. After hours of difficult efforts, the Assam Forest Department’s frontline rescue team successfully removed the tyre and freed the elephant. The incident also highlights how discarded waste and abandoned objects near forest areas can become dangerous for wildlife.
